I saw this topic in the Fred Miranda Macro forum, which got me thinking how to achieve this. My first attempt, I used water droplets but unless I manipulated the photo, the black background came out too light. I then decided to use milk instead of water, because milk would reflect light much better. By using milk I didn't have to alter the background and still could keep it black. The surface used was a standard non-stick pot that was dry. The milk was then placed onto the pot with a straw. Camera was on a tripod with mirror lockup.
