This photo was achieved by accident but turned out to be even better then I originally was trying to achieve. Somehow I accidentally moved the camera off M (manual) and onto Av (aperture priority) when mounting to the tripod. So when I released the shutter I realized it was going for a much longer exposure then I thought I set it for. It was originally set to be a 1/250th sec exposure but Av put in on fill flash and because of the dark room set shutter speed at 30 seconds. So during the exposure I grabbed the camera and took it off the tripod which gave it the artificial smoke look.
