I love ur macro photos and I’m looking to get a macro lens as well. Im wondering if ur photos are taken with a tripod?, can i get ur opinion on Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 macro lens and the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L IS macro lens. Is the image stabilizer that important and do u face any difficulties without the IS in your lens? (handheld of course)
Thanks Bil,
Many of my macro photos are taken hand held, made possible because of a flash. When using a flash, a shutter speed of up to 1/250th is possible.
I haven’t used the 100mm f/2.8L IS lens but I (and others I know) personally don’t believe IS would be any help with macro photography, for portraits or other it could be very helpful. However both lenses can give excellent macro results 🙂
