Hunt’s Pond 2011
Esopus
I traveled east to the Hudson river on this fall day and luckily found this colorful preserve on the west coast of the river.
Gilbert Lake 22
A view of one of the trail signs on this autumn day at Gilbert Lake State Park
Gilbert Lake 21
I took a walk around the lake and was able to get a nice colorful photo
Lackawanna
I traveled to Pennsylvania to capture some nice autumn colors and see a park I haven’t yet been too. So I stumbled onto this beautiful park named Lackawanna State Park which had a nice waterfall, trails, picnic areas and of course autumn colors.
Ferris Lake
I traveled to the Adirondacks to see the start of the fall foliage and found this place. It was a few miles of wooded trails with some beautiful views
Robert V Riddell
Update: More photos have been added from another section of the park. The photos were taken when the park was closed, thanks to the NY State governor. Luckily it is now open.
Sadly here is another park that may be closed, Robert V. Riddell State park. “Robert V. Riddell of Colliersville wanted the woods, fields and meandering Schenevus Creek on his property to be preserved and accessible for generations to come.” Thankfully his family honored his wishes. Governor George Pataki turned it into a state park and said: “Securing this scenic open space ensures the continued protection of natural resources throughout the Susquehanna Valley, while increasing access to pristine parkland,” So once again I took a trip to the park while I still can and got a few more photos
Bomoseen
I had to travel to the New York/Vermont border, so I figured while there check to see if there were any parks in the area. I got somewhat lucky and found the Bomoseen State Park in Vermont, the unlucky part is it wasn’t open but I still got some photos.
Hunt’s Pond
I took another look at a park I haven’t been to in years. Thanks to the State of New York the park will be closed, so I grabbed a couple of more photos while I still can. ![]()
Bear Spring Mountain
Here I found a bunch of trails and a beautiful water fall.
Faulkner Brook
I stumbled on this hunting area just over the New York border and took a small hike up the hills to find this beautiful creek called Faulkner Brook.
Oquaga Creek
With New York State goverment not able to balance there checking account, many things of beauty might no longer be available. On February 19, the New York State Parks Commissioner slated 41 parks for outright closure. Sadly Oquaga Creek State park will be one of these closures. So I took a trip to the park while I still can and got a few more photos
